Student leadership

Elections for leadership positions at Merimbula Public School are held in Term 4 each year.

Our school supports and promotes student leadership by having a Student Representative Council that includes 2 representatives from each class (Year 1-6) and 5 School Leaders.

Students also have the opportunity to become House Captains, House Vice Captains, Junior House Captains, Library Monitors, Technology Monitors, Bus Monitors and Flag Monitors.

Out SRC meet fortnightly, coordinate fundraising events, discos and school assemblies.

We also have student mascots who model our school values in the playground.

Students don't have to be school captains or house captains to be considered leaders. We encourage our students to be leaders in the classroom and playground, through their support for other students, or their involvement in academic, sporting, cultural or community events and projects.
