Towards the end of Term 4, December 12, high academic achievement, effort and success in learning was celebrated at Merimbula Public School. Around 5 students in each class were recognised for high achievement whilst around 40 students school-wide received special awards for effort and excellence in specific learning areas.
As well as seeing student achievement celebrated, the school's Recorder Ensemble and Year 6 students shared some talented musical items, which were followed by the traditional Parent and Helpers' Morning Tea. Thank you to all of our wonderful parents and guests who were recognised for their continued support at the morning tea.
Kindergarten students were also recognised for their efforts and learning at the Kindergarten Graduation, receiving a lovely children's book gift thanks to the Merimbula Public School P&C.
The Presentation Day once again was a great success thanks to the efforts of staff and students, and importantly the community sponsors who provided generous book prizes and scholarships for the awardees. Some sponsors even took time out of their busy work days to attend the presentation and present awards. The school would like to thank the following sponsors for the support: Campbell Page, Robin Hood Services Club, Sautelle White Lawyers, Merimbula Day View Club, Merimbula-Imlay Historical Society, Mumbulla Foundation, Illawarra Mutual Building Society, Horizon Credit Union, Pambula-Merimbula Gold Club, Merimbula Newsagency, Merimbula Surf Shop, Fatman and the Goddess, Bega Valley Shire Council, Seeto and Dodd Pharmacy, Booktique, Bega Valley Shire Council, the Sharing Books Club, Club Sapphire, Goodall's Quality Meats, Pambula Merimbula Golf Club, South East Fibre Exports and the Merimbula Lions Club.
The presentation also included an induction of our new 2015 School Leaders. Congratulations to Jessica, Blake, Liliana, Louise and Charlotte for being voted in by your peers.
