Many families and community members joined staff and Variety Club 'bashers' for breakfast on May 20. Thank you to all who attended to support our school and the Variety Club by being part of our 'big breakfast'. It was a fantastic morning that, together with the $4500 worth of books donated to our school, has raised around $10000 for student reading and learning support resources.
A big thanks must go to all of the Stage 2 parents and caregivers who helped prepare food items and slices on Monday. What a great experience for our students, learning to cook healthy and delicious foods with dozens of enthusiastic mums, dads and family members. Thank you also to Angi High for teaching Stage 3 about your photography skills, and how to take great photographs. Thank you mostly to all of our staff, both teaching and support staff, some of their partners/children and to our P&C President Ross Mannell. This dedicated team set up and served the visitors. Some staff were setting up until 7.30pm the night before, with many coming in to school from 5am to start cooking. Thank you also to the cleaners who did their morning clean until after 8pm the night before so that the school was clean and tidy first thing in the morning.
Thank you to our community sponsors: Cheeky Mango (who supplied food heating trays), the Uniting Church (who loaned us cuttlery), Tura Beach Bakery (who donated all of the bread and rolls), Squizzy's Tyres and More (who donated $300) and Woolworths Tura Beach for storing our 45kg of bacon until the event. Thank you also to the Merimbula News Weekly and Power FM/2EC Radio for your coverage of the event.
